The Sensory Spectrum
2023
The defining avant-garde was shared by Dada and Surrealism. The purpose of this project was to demonstrate how information affects five senses via five organs. The images were produced using a laptop camera and are mirror images. Because computers are the most significant means of disseminating information in modern society, technology is the reason why laptop cameras are preferred. Since the invention of the computer in 1946 and the internet in 1969, people have switched from manual writing to digital data processing as a means of processing information. For instance, before 1990, when computers began to gain popularity, many people still sent paper letters. People back then had to wait for responses and paper deliveries, making it impossible for them to respond quickly and efficiently or receive information. However, the internet and computers completely altered this situation. Particularly in the twenty-first century, our society has changed how information is processed. Due to how practical and effective computers and the internet are, people now process more information and tasks than they did in the past. Information is becoming more robust and eye-catching as a result of people choosing to receive information instantly, to grab their attention. It appears that online information is taking advantage of people's sensory experiences more and more. In other words, people's five senses are being overrun with information. The term "five senses" refers to the five commonly accepted senses: taste, sight, touch, smell, and sound. These five senses are based on the mouth, body, eyes, nose, and ears. There are two distinct categories of senses: five organs and five conscious. No sensory experiences because there are no five organs. The top five organs are in order. Our brain cannot respond appropriately if five organs ignore or reject outside information. Five organs can therefore be thought of as intermediaries between outside factors and the internal brain. Additionally, the brain's primary sources for processing information are five organs; as a result, sensory experiences are the transition from internal to externalisation of information.
